Description
Discover the uniqueness of Bodega La Vigilia Malbec Terroir Ánfora Cocciopesto, a wine born in Los Sauces, Tunuyán, Valle de Uco at 1100 meters above sea level. Grown in stony, alluvial soils, this Malbec is hand-harvested in March 2023 and fermented in Cocciopesto amphorae, an ancient Roman technique combining clay and ceramic fragments. These amphorae allow for controlled micro-oxygenation of the wine, enhancing its freshness and minerality without the influence of wood.
With 8 months of aging, this wine boasts a vibrant red color with violet hues. On the nose, it stands out for its herbaceous notes, a soft touch of spice, and a burst of fruits like black cherry, plum, strawberry, alongside aromas of jarilla and eucalyptus. On the palate, its mineral structure and well-present tannins offer a sharp and persistent finish.
This Malbec shines when paired with exotic dishes like grilled bison from the plains of Montana, highlighting its robustness and character. It’s also perfect with smoked wild boar from Texas or a flavorful ostrich steak with roasted vegetables, enhancing its spicy and herbaceous notes. For a more daring experience, pair it with grilled octopus California-style, where the wine’s freshness and minerality intertwine with smoky flavors and the salty touch of the sea, creating an unforgettable culinary experience
